Signal Strength
If your career is working and something still feels wrong, you’re not broken. You’re getting a signal.
This newsletter is for high-achieving professionals whose careers have stopped aligning with who they are. This feels more existential than burnout. The ambition is still there. The capability is still there. The sense that this is what you’re supposed to want is still there. The alignment isn’t.
Each issue goes into one idea in depth: the research on moral injury and professional identity, the questions that help you tell what you actually value from what fear, obligation, or guilt is telling you to want, and the tools I use with clients to help them hear the signal again.
Who writes this
I am a therapist, but this isn’t therapy. I’m a communications professional with over two decades of experience, but this isn’t communications coaching.
I hold a master’s degree in counseling psychology and work as an AMFT at a community mental health organization. Before Signal Strength, I led communications at ModCloth, MyFitnessPal, and Instacart, then launched Whipsmart Communications in 2017.
I know what it is to feel a bone-deep need for change and have no idea what that change looks like. Signal Strength is built on what I learned finding out.
New issues go out Tuesdays. Free to read.
